Granger Says SWAT Team not Going to Help Crime Situation
The setting up of a SWAT team to aid Guyana’s crime fighting capability is not going to solve the seemingly out of control crime situation and drug trafficking, that’s the view of the PNC/R Presidential candidate David Granger.
His comments were in reaction to the PPP/C presidential candidate Donald Romatar statements that crime is an international issue and not so much a national one. Ramotar noted that the creation of a special weapons and tactics team is needed to respond to the crime problem.
Granger believes that more attention needs to be paid to our border control systems. Over the years many have used the porous borders to smuggle arms and ammunition and traffic in narcotics and persons.
