Air Services Ltd Gets New Aircraft
Private Sector Commission Chairman, Ramesh Dookhoo is calling for transparency, accountability and good governance from private companies in an effort to ensure public confidence.
This comment came as Air Services Limited on Monday commissioned another Cessna grand Caravan which brings to a total of 16 the number of aircraft owned by the company. The new aircraft was commissioned as part of the company’s 50th anniversary celebration.
Dookhoo said the air service operator has led by example in recognizing the value of transport in stepping up economical development especially in the hinterland communities. He believes while the company could be proud of its achievements there is more still to be accomplished.
Minister of Works and Hydraulics Robeson Benn, who has responsibility for the transport sector, praised the company for its dedication and commitment in serving the local sector.
Air Services Limited says too that plans are already in the pipe line to expand its wings into the Caribbean aside from its domestic flights.
The company has been leading the way in the local aviation sector since it also operates a Flight School which has trained hundreds of pilots both from Guyana and the Caribbean.
