Police Claims Former Boxer was Involved in Organised Crime
As the search for justice for the slain former boxer Linden Mortley continues, his distraught parents are calling on the police to produce the evidence that he was linked to drugs and arms trafficking. The family was reacting to statements made in the press by the police crime chief.
According to the crime Chief Seelall Persaud Mortley was on the police radar for ties to organized crime, firearms and narcotics trafficking for more than ten years.
At the time of his demise Mortley had two pending matters in the courts one a gun possession charge and the other on a possession of grenade charge.
His bereaved relatives believe that rather than the police pointing fingers they want them to conduct a thorough investigation and go after every possible lead.
Mortley was killed execution style Sunday night on the Busta Bridge in festival city. He received 3 gunshot wounds including a close range one to the head.
