Disunity Causing Labour Movement to Weaken
President of the Guyana Public Service Union Patrick Yarde is reporting that unity seems to be lacking among labour leaders. He said that the absence of unity has caused the labour movement to be weaker now than it was years ago.
Yarde pointed out that some leaders instead of fighting for workers rights are being side tracked by politicians.
Yarde believes that the Public Service Commission has only created a rift among the various labour unions. The GPSU President pointed out that he is not pleased with the Guyana Teachers union for signing the recent agreement with the government.
The labour union President is urging workers to unite and overcome the injustices that they face on a daily basis if their leaders are not willing to unite.
