Coalition to be Finalized by 21st
Turning now to opposition politics, the peoples national congress reform is convinced that everything is going well with the ongoing coalition talks involving the joint opposition political parties. PNC Presidential Candidate David Granger today said the PNC will host its general council meeting on the 21st may and there should be a finalization of the agreements for the coalition by the that date.
Granger said the doors are still open for the involvement of other groups to join the talks but he noted that agreements have been reached.
The main opposition party says any coalition must include a plan for political action which defines the principles and outlines the programmes that must guide the leaders and people.
The 4 joint opposition parties taking part in the talks are the PNC Reform, the WPA, the Guyana Action Party and the National Front Alliance. Once everything goes as planned the coalition movement could be introduced to the country before the end of may and set the tone for the start of the campaign fully.
