Ramotar said he expects no surprises to come out of the county conferences.
The 60 year old career politician and trained economist joined the PPP in 1967 and has been heavily involved in party work and programmes ever since. He became the party’s general secretary in 1997 following the death of President Cheddi Jagan. Ramotar said becoming the Presidential Candidate for the party he has worked for and with for decades is something that never crossed his mind.
Ramotar admits that the road ahead may be a bit difficult but he is ready to take it on.
