Route 42 Minibus Operators Strike
Route 42 Minibus Bus operators on the East Bank of Demerara took strike action this morning for a fare increase leaving passengers stranded. The operators are asking that commuters pay twenty dollars more on the current fare.
Just like other minibus zones the operators too are complaining about the slow increase in gas prices and the jump in cost of spare parts.
One bus operator outlined the new fares of what commuters should be paying for the different destinations along the east bank.
The 42 zone operators have since decided to join the minibus association which will in turn give them the right to charge the new increases.
