Man Arrested For Unlicensed Firearm Which Was Giving To Him By Employer
A distraught mother is expressing concern over the way her son’s employer is handling a case in which he is allegedly being accused of having in his possession an unlicensed fire arm that was given to him by the company. His Mother, Jennifer Holland is now faced with the responsibility of caring for his three children since he was remanded to prison since last November.
The woman said he was at the time working with Home Safe Security who transferred him to work at Excel Mineral in Port Kaituma, Region One. She said her son called her moments before he was arrested telling her that he was lost. He told her that the person who was expected to meet him there did not show up and it was getting dark.
The man was picked up by the police after they received a report that an unidentified man was in the area and was looking suspicious.
The woman claims after she learnt what had transpired she contacted the security firm to see what assistance could be given since they were the ones who sent him in the interior. She said the company promised to intervene but to date nothing was done to get her son out of the lockups.
Dale Holland has worked with Home Safe Security over a year now and has made several court appearances after he was remanded to the Camp Street prison. The man is expected to return to court on May 4.
When this news cast contacted the security firm for a comment as to why the man was carrying an unlicensed firearm we were simply told that the managing director is the only one that could speak on the matter and he was unavailable.
