Designer Unable To Deliver Floats For Mashramani
With Mashramani celebrations over designers are breathing a sigh of relief after long hours of work. But one designer Trevor Rose may not be so lucky after he failed to deliver his end of the bargain for some of his clients. Rose was contracted to produce costumes and floats for the Ministry of Housing, Banks DIH and the Guyana Power & Light.
Some of his clients were forced to take to the streets without their floats since dropping out of the annual parade was not an option. Housing Minister Irfaan Ali said it was quite upsetting that the designer only managed to complete the costumes. He assured Capitol News that actions will be taken against Rose since he breached his contract with the ministry.
The Ministry was not alone since Banks DIH was also left with no other choice but to hit the road without its float. The Guyana Power & Light still managed to get a few of its floats and costumes but was not too impressed with the quality of work. The company was forced to wait long hours before the band could join the annual parade.
Just last Friday Rose was robbed of over 2 million dollar at his mash camp on Burnham Basketball court. And if that was not enough the recent heavy rains forced the designer to be relocated at Thirst Park. When this news cast revisited the mash camp some floats were still there incomplete.
