Ishmael Secondary Walks Away With 1st at Children’s Dance And Masquerade Finials
It was an afternoon of energy and excitement as the children’s dance and masquerade competition finials was held on Thursday. The event saw first place winners from around the region competing for this year’s title.
The competition started with the individual dance category and Richard Ishmael Secondary walked away with the first spot while New Silver City Secondary School out of Region 10 placed second and Region 3 Zeeburg Secondary third.
In the group dance age 11- 13, Richard Ishmael Secondary of Georgetown copped first place followed by Region 10 One Mile Primary and Three Miles Secondary out of Region Seven placing the third.
After the dances it was time for the masquerade individual competition. Region four Ann’s Grove Secondary topped this category while North Georgetown Secondary came in second and Anna Regina Secondary, Region Two in third place.
Lancaster Secondary of Region Four took the first place trophy for the group masquerade, leaving second space for North Georgetown Secondary and third spot to Region’s Two Cotton Field Secondary.
To wrap up the children’s Mashramani competitions on Saturday the students will take to the streets for the children’s costume parade which will start at Parade ground and end at the national park.
