Parents To Blame For Violence In School?

Education Minister Shaik Baksh is clearly laying the blame on parents for the behavior of some children in the school system.

The minister who was at the time speaking at the national teachers awards ceremony on Thursday pointed out that violence in schools has always been a problem for the local education sector. He believes that this is a problem that has to be rooted out first in the homes.

And pointing out that teachers are not the ones to blamed, the Minister said too that the ministry through the schools’ welfare department is prepared to work this year to address the problem of violence – an issue that will not be taken lightly.

Violence in schools across the country has also been a touchy subject for the ministry of education. Over the last year several schools have been brought under the microscope for violent behavior

A study conducted by the ministry last year showed that over a six month period, there were 62 incidents of violent behavior in 26 schools involving approximately 117 students.
