Caribbean Airlines To Launch Non Stop Service To New York
No startup date is confirmed just yet but regional Carrier, Caribbean airlines has announced that it will soon launch a non stop service to New York. Initially the airline will offer 3 non stop flights between Georgetown and New York while the daily flights with stop over’s in Trinidad will remain intact. Over the years Caribbean airlines has enjoyed good support from the Guyanese market and its predecessor BWIA enjoyed that same support for decades before it folded and made way for Caribbean airlines a few years back.
Now under pressure from lots of complaining customers including the Government of Guyana, the airline has decided add some competition to the non stop ny flight race. Delta is the only other carrier that flies from Georgetown to the US and all of its flights are non stop.
Over the years customers have complained about the sometimes long and stressful stop over in Trinidad. Over the past few years though, Caribbean airlines has been paying much more attention to the Guyana market as it faces a whole lot more competition in the other regional markets.
Executives of Caribbean airlines were in Guyana last week to meet with President Bharrat Jagdeo.
