Who Leads The PNC?
In the People’s National Congress the town hall style meetings are continuing as the party moves ahead with its search for a presidential candidate. At the Georgetown meeting, the nominees were asked whether they have any concerns about the presidential candidate being different from the leader of the party. David Granger said he doesn’t see a problem.
He went on to explain that the presidential candidate could become the opposition leader if the party loses at the next elections. Faith Harding pointed out that at the next biennial meeting all of the nominees could run for leader of the party.
Current party leader Robert Corbin is not in the running for the presidential candidate position and it is the first time that the leader of the PNC will not be the party’s presidential candidate at an election.
