Opposition Accuses Administration Of Being Corrupt
Speaker of the National Assembly Ralph Ramkarran after he was forced to suspend the budget debate on Monday evening for 15 minutes as parliamentarians became rowdy during AFC member Khemraj Ramjattan presentation.
The opposition member during his argument said it was evident that corruption exists in the way awards were given for infrastructural projects across the country. Ramjattan’s statement was not taken too lightly by the government side of the house. He attacked the current administration for not having a good track record of transparency and accountability.
He said the government may not really have the best interest of everyone at heart.
The alliance for change chairman also highlighted during his presentation that this year’s budget would have been a good one had it focused on job creation for citizens especially with the large number of unemployed young people.
