More Money Injected Into Health Sector
As we continue our look at the national budget, we focus this evening on the health sector which continues to receive one of the biggest chunks of the budget pie. The government has been saying that it will continue with its commitment to the sector pith several programmes that will cover critical areas. Programmes that could cost up to 14 Billion dollars, the total amount budgeted for the sector. That’s a 1 billion increase over last years budget.
And with the many concerns about how some hospitals and clinics handle complex emergency cases, more money will be pumped into the training of staff.
On HIV, the government intends this year to ensure testing accessibility continues to reach every citizen in an effort to achieve universal coverage. More HIV projects are expected to come on stream and will compliment other health programmes.
