Police Force Still To Locate Drug Dealers

The Guyana Police Force is still to locate 2 men it says may be responsible for that 40 pounds of cocaine which was found in a car on the west bank of Demerara nearly two weeks back. The police force has since issued a wanted bulletin for one of the men but enough information has not been rolling in to give investigators a workable lead.
The driver of the car was arrested and eventually released on station bail. The man had claimed that he had no idea what was in the men’s possession. Reports indicate that the two men made a dash when they spotted police, leaving the illegal substance worth millions of Guyana dollars behind. The bust was one of the largest ones on local soil for this year and came at a time when the police force is looking at the development of a new national drug strategy master plan that will seek to clamp down on drug trafficking in and out of Guyana.

The internet news site demerarawaves.com earlier this week quoted a police source as saying that the wanted man may have already left the country.
