China Donates 7M US To Guyana To Aid In Social And Economic Development
The Chinese are giving the Guyana Government money to pump into the social and economic sectors. Guyana and China on Monday inked a 7 point five million US dollar grant agreement
The Chinese Ambassador believes the agreement could be seen as beneficial to both countries as they strive to strengthen the relationship that exists between the two states.
Finance Minister, Dr. Ashni Singh said the ministry and the Chinese counterparts have not decided on the specific areas the grant will cover. He noted that the two countries have shared a very fruitful relationship over the years.
Dr. Singh pointed to examples of the relationship shared between the two countries with establishment of the co-generation plant at Skeldon and the Guyana Power and Light transmission and distribution system.
