National Narcotics conference Reviewing Steps To Battle The Narcotic Trade In Guyana
A national conference opened this morning assessing Guyana’s fight against the drug trade and looking ahead at new national drug strategy master plan. At the opening of the 2 day meeting, Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee admitted that the drug trade remains a major challenge in this country although there have been some success with regards to busts.
The minister said Guyana was hoping to get more international support in the implementation of the last drug strategy master plan but it did not get support that was expected.
The conference has brought together law and drug enforcement officials and other key players in the security sector.
