20 New Police Officers Graduate From Junior Officers Cadet Course
The police commissioner has challenged the police officers who would have successfully completed a three month cadet officers’ course to help improve the quality of service offered to citizens. On Friday a closing ceremony was held for the Junior Officers’ Course number 20 and cadet officers’ course. Over thirty five officers were presented with certificates.
The commissioner has challenged the officers to help change the negative image of the police force which exists in society as they would have been imparted with the necessary knowledge to deal with any kind of situation.
Deputy Superintendent, Ingrid Wiltshire said the course was primarily aimed at developing and testing the officers’ ability both in theory and practical.
Participants were drawn from various divisions throughout the country. The course was supported by the University of Guyana who provided lecturers to conduct some for the sessions while other sessions were done by senior members of the force.
