Taxi Driver Brutalized By Police For Not Moving His Car
A city taxi driver wants the police commissioner and the commander of a division to look into an incident which he said took place a few days ago at the Stabroek market car park. The man said he was badly beaten and dragged by a group of police officers from the tactical services unit after he questioned their order to move his car.
He claims that this was not the first time that he has found himself being brutalized by the police, a few years back, he was beaten by another group of policemen after he refused to turn the music in his car down. He said this latest incident should not be allowed to go the same way like the last with no investigation and he intends to make a noise about it.
