PYARG Celebrates Their 12th Anniversary
Participants of the President’s Youth Award Republic of Guyana (PYARG) over the weekend were rewarded for their successful completion of several service projects. The 12th Anniversary celebration was held at the National Cultural Centre which saw some 678 youths presented with Gold, Silver or Bronze awards.
Minister of Culture Youth and Sport, Dr. Frank Anthony encouraged participants to use the experience gained to further develop the country.
President Bharrat Jagdeo noted that young people are the ones who will bring about change in society and as such they must be given the necessary support.
President Jagdeo also challenged the young people to return to their respective communities and be agents of change and help promote their country.
Participants between the ages of 14 to 25 were exposed to community service, adventure, skills training and moral education among other areas.
