Winston Murray Critical In Georgetown Hospital
Up to news time, Member of Parliament and former Chairman of the Peoples National Congress Winston Murray was still in a critical but stable condition at the Georgetown hospital. Mr. Murray who collapsed last evening on his way home after an afternoon in the national assembly has been unresponsive and unconscious since first being admitted to the Balwant Singh Hospital. Late last night he was transferred to the Georgetown hospital.
Today the Georgetown hospital in a statement said his condition is critical with poor prognosis and that there was severe haemorrage of the brain. Doctors tried all night to ease the bleeding in the brain but were unsuccessful. A Jamaican based neurosurgeon was expected in the country this evening as Murray’s condition does not allow for him to be medi vaced. Today Opposition leader and Leader of the PNC Robert Corbin said the party is praying for a full recovery.
Winston Murray has been very busy of late increasing his workload with his campaign to become the Presidential candidate for the PNC for the next elections. Just last week he launched an advertising campaign in the newspapers outlining why he is the best candidate for the job.
He is the PNC’s chief economic mind in the national assembly and up to late yesterday he debated the government on various spending procedures and accounting records.
