Security To Be Beefed Up In City For Christmas
The Guyana Police Force is reporting that from November 15 through January 15, next year citizens can feel comfortable as the force will be intensifying its presence around the city during the festive season. This move by the force is to reduce criminal activities, accidents and congestion around the city.
Divisional Commander George Vyphuis, said the force wants to ensure that citizens can carry out their normal shopping activities in a safe and secure environment.
The commander said like any other society the police would always be confronted by challenges but the force will try its best to prevent some of those challenges.
The commander highlighted that a strategic plan will be implemented as police patrols will be increased at commercial Banks, hotels, nightspots and post offices. Special attention will also be paid to noise nuisance. The commander said it will be zero-tolerance toward noise nuisance.
