National Toshaos council Meeting Closes On High Note

Chairperson of the National Toshaos Council Yvonne Pearson is reporting that the Toshaos Council meeting which was held at the Guyana International Conference Centre has ended on a high note after five days of discussions.

A number of issues were discussed as it relates to the Low Carbon Development Strategy’s Implementation phase and other initiatives such as Solar Panels, Land Demarcation, and Funding of Amerindian Villages Community Development Plans.

Executive Member, Derick John said the meeting allowed village leaders to highlight all the problems affecting their village’s development.

The council’s chairperson believes Toshaos have been given the adequate information as it relates to the development of Amerindian villages and stands prepare to participate in the country’s development.

The National Toshaos Council meeting was held under the theme `Advancing Development in a Low Carbon Economy’ and was opened last Monday. Over one hundred and sixty-six participant attended the meeting.
