Childcare Protection Agency To Have its Own Building By End Of November
The Childcare and Protection Agency will soon have its own building come the end of November which was recently announced by Human Services and Social Security Minister, Priya Manickchand. This was one of seven recommendations made after an internal investigation was conducted on the agency.
Minister Manickchand said the contractor has guaranteed the agency that the new facility will be up and ready by the given time.
The minister noted that while the agency is undergoing some changes. Members of society are also being reminded that they too have a role to play in protecting the nation’s children.
With this in mind, the Childcare and Protection Agency will also be collaborating with other ministries.
The report has also made recommendations that the agency increases the complement of Childcare and Protection officers. The public is being urged to make full use of the agency’s hotline number to report any cases of child abuse.
