Death Of Nessa Gopaul Spurs Picketing Exercise Outside Of Human Services Ministry
Supporters of the Peoples National Congress Reform have expressed concern with the recent death of sixteen year old Nessa Gopaul, whose body was discovered in a suitcase at a creek on the Linden Soesdyke Highway a few weeks back.
A picketing exercise was today staged to express this concern in front of the Ministry of Human Services and Security where the Childcare and Protection Agency is also located. The same agency that the young woman and other relatives made numerous reports about her being abused.
According to the supporters they are going to continue with their picketing exercise until the young woman’s matter is addressed urgently as they believe more could have been done by the agency to save the young woman’s life.
Currently the Human Services and Social Security Minister, Priya Manickchand is in receipt of the special report after an investigation was launched into the Childcare and Protection Agency response toward the 16 year old woman case.
