Body Found In Lamaha Canal Identified By Police

The Guyana Police Force has reported that the body of the man who was discovered in the Lamaha Canal maybe linked to another death after he was positively identified as that of Devon Simpson of Kara Kara Linden.

It is believed that his death could be connected to that of Linden Mc Pherson who was found dead on the Ituni Road with a single gunshot wound on Monday October 04. According to the Police McPherson was involved in planting Marjuniana before he was murdered.

Simpson who is 34 years of age and lived at Lot 40 Old Kara Kara, Linden was identified based on a cannabis leaf tattoo and the name ‘Shevon’ inked on his forearm since it is reported that he was last seen alive on Sunday at his home.

The man’s body was fished out of the canal and showed marks of violence and a bullet wound to the back of his head while a chain and cell phone were found in his pocket. It is still unclear how the man’s body ended up in the Lamaha Canal which separates Meadow Brook from Sophia. The body was by discovered by residents in the area on Tuesday.

Some residents said they heard gunshots in the area over the weekend but paid no attention to it they strongly believe it may have been around the same time that the man was shot.
