Ministry Of Agriculture To Sign $6.8M Grant To Support East Dmerara Water Conservancy
The Ministry of Agriculture and a Japanese Mission team will sign a 6.8 million dollar grant which aims to support the East Demerara Water Conservancy and complement works of the East Demerara Water Conservancy Northern Relief Channel.
Agriculture Minister Robert Persaud today met the visiting team and noted that the project will comprise of two components.
Persaud said the partnership has come at a timely manner since government is working towards improving the country’s water conservancy.
Component two of the project will see a survey done before a detailed designed is given to the government of Guyana while they are required to supply component one in 2011.
The Japanese team believes the project will deepen the relationship that the two countries share.
