Local Club Raises Funds To Better Brest Cancer Awareness In Guyana
Over the weekend, the Periwinkle Club doubled its efforts to raise the level of awareness about Breast Cancer by targeting shoppers in local supermarkets. Members of the group bearing products from Hunts International sold these products to shoppers and distributed shopping bags along with pink pins with the hunts logo. The proceeds earned from the sales will be used to assist with care for persons with cancer and survivors also.
The Hunts promotion was launched specifically for the month of October, which is Breast Cancer awareness month, and is being used as a means of educating the public, especially women about breast cancer. It is being held at various supermarkets across Georgetown such as Nigel’s Supermarket and the east bank of Demerara.
This National Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign is being used to building awareness of Breast Cancer and empowering women to reduce and prevent the risk.
