Top CSEC Performers Honored At Annual Awards Ceremony

Queens College student Kelly Ann Persaud who gained 15 Grade Ones at this year’s CSEC examinations was among the students honored at this year’s Ministry of Education National Award Ceremony.

The annual event is aimed at honoring students whose academic performances were outstanding in 2010, delivering the feature address education Minister Shaik Baksh appealed to the awardees to remain and help develop Guyana.

Prime Minister Samuel Hinds told the top achievers that with their outstanding performances the country has real hope. Prizes were presented to the Best Science Student and the Overall Best Student in Guyana at the CSEC Level along with the outstanding students from the Guyana Technical Education Examination.

Awards were presented to the best performers of Carnegie School of Home Economics while Tucville Secondary School earned the title of Most Improved Junior Secondary School.

President’s College also received the top honors for being the Most Improved Senior Secondary School at this year’s CSEC Examinations while the most Improved Primary School went to West Ruimveldt.
