PNC Calling on Government to Enhance Benefits For Senior Citizens
The People’s National Congress Reform is calling on the government to make the necessary provisions and put in place programs which place greater emphasis on enhancing the quality of life and provide the much needed health and other support care for senior citizens.
According to the general secretary of the party, Oscar Clarke, attempts have been made by the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security to have a national commission on the elderly. However, these attempts have failed since the commission is not functioning.
According to Clarke, much can be done to provide senior citizens with the basic necessities for daily living. Clarke said, the party, has, over the last five years, made several recommendations to Minister Priya Manickchand for the improvement and well being of our senior citizens.
