Family Of Nessa Gopaul Upset With Police Force and Child Protection Agency
Family members of sixteen year old Nessa Gopaul, the Queens College student whose headless body was discovered over the weekend are furious that the police never acted on their many concerns and reports. They are also firing off at the child protection agency for not acting fast enough.
Nessa’s aunt Sawly Redman who resides in Barbados today said while she was in Guyana last month the child confided in her that she was being forced to get involved in illegal activities.
The young girl’s mother and stepfather have since been taken into custody. The aunt said several attempts were made to have her sister, the girl’s mother, removed from an abusive relationship since the man threatened to take her daughter’s life and also hers on numerous occasions.
Sixteen year old Nessa Gopaul went missing two Fridays ago. Her mother took 3 days to report her missing. It is believed that the young woman was murdered and her body taken to the Linden Soesdyke highway and dumped in one of the creeks there. Her grandfather was the one who identified the remains. Family members say they would like the investigation to be given some priority and they hope that justice will be served.
