Commissioner Of Police Recuperating After Heart Condition Over The Weekend
Commissioner of Police Henry Greene is recuperating at today after suffering a health scare over the weekend and being admitted to the Caribbean Heart Institute at the Georgetown Hospital. He spent the entire weekend as a patient of the institute under observation.
Capitol News understands that the Commissioner developed a heart condition a while back and this was not the first time that he was rushed to the heart institute and placed under observation.
During his first visit, the Commissioner was encouraged to have surgical intervention to deal with the problem affecting his heart, he objected to that, choosing rather to stick to a medication routine.
The 56 year old Police Commissioner should have retired at age 55 but was granted an extension in his service. There have been reports that he has been involved in discussions over the past few months about his future as Commissioner of police. He has never denied or confirmed those reports. Henry Greene began his career in the Guyana Police Force 30 years ago.
