Mahaica Businessman Robbed by Armed Bandits

Businessman from the Mahaica area Rajdeo Taijpaul is a patient at the Georgetown public hospital following an attack by bandits at his house. The businessman was shot in his arm and leg. Some of his family members were injured in the attack, and the bandits took away over half a million dollars from the family.
According to family members, the bandits struck just after three in the morning as the businessman who transports goods to persons who sell in the markets in the city, was preparing to leave his home.
The man’s wife sustained several injuries to her body, as the bandits demanded money from her; according to the woman she ran out of the house but had to return to save her daughter. She said the ordeal lasted for over half of an hour. The house was ransacked and damaged in the attack.
Today police brought out their tracker dog to assist in the investigations into the incident.
