Mini Bus Conductor Robbed at Gun Point
The police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 07:30pm. last night Saturday July 31, 2010, during which mini-bus conductor Wayne Forde, 25 years of Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Georgetown, was attacked and robbed by a man armed with a handgun. He has been arrested and the firearm and stolen cash recovered by the police.
Investigations revealed that the armed man joined the Route 40 mini-bus at Sheriff Street and requested to get off at Vlissingen Road and Garnett Street, Kitty. As he came out of the vehicle the armed man held up the conductor and robbed him of $7,000.00 cash and ran away. He was pursued by the conductor and the bus driver who were joined by ranks of a mobile police patrol that was in the vicinity and subsequently caught in a yard at Station Street, Kitty. The .32 revolver along with three matching rounds and the stolen cash were recovered by the police. The suspect is in police custody and will be charged shortly.
