Woman crushed to death, husband charged with dangerous driving
The husband of Bridgette Gangadin, whose body was last weekend found dead outside the Vigilance Magistrates Court was today charged with driving under the influence (DUI).
The man, Dave Gangadin, was released on bail in the amount of $10, 000. This has angered family members of the woman who claim she was abused over the 14 years the two were married. Family members today protested the decision to charged the man with DUI and have alleged that she was murdered. Family members requested a second autopsy, but this was denied.
Police had initially said they were treating the incident as murder, and so the charge of drinking under the influence of alcohol surprised family members. The family members expressed dissatisfaction with the way they were treated by Police.
Dave Gangadin told Police his wife jumped out of the vehicle and her head was crushed by the wheel of the vehicle. The woman will be cremated Saturday
