Death of a Lusignan Woman: A case of Domestic Violence

Family members are concerned that the death of a twenty nine year old Lusignan woman Bridgette Gangadin could be a case of domestic abuse. According to family members the couple was married for fourteen years but those years were characterized by abuse.


Bridgette was found lying on the side of the road next to the Vigilance police station on the East Coast of Demerara some time around two on Saturday morning May 1, 2010.


According to family members, the woman left home for a function with her husband Dave Gangadin. Some time around two they received a call informing them of her death.


The husband is in police custody. He told the Police his wife jumped from the Canter pickup they were in and as a result was run over by the vehicle, with the wheel crushing her head. The police investigators are treating the matter as case of murder.
