Health Minister “walks wide” of the Khan Case
As expected the Health Minister Dr. Leslie Ramsammy has denied any connection to the infamous laptop in the Roger Khan Case. The Minister appears to be saying in a statement yesterday June 9 that he does not know what Roger Khan’s former lawyer Robert Simels is talking about when Simels tried link him to Shaheed Roger Khan.
Dr. Leslie Ramsammy declared: “I have never been involved in any kind of criminal activity and if there are allegations in that respect, then the police must do their job. If called upon to cooperate with any investigation, I will do so. I am at all times available to those who are responsible to investigate any criminal activity, if they think I could be of any help. I can look the public in the eye and I can look all those politicians who call me their friend and I say, I have never been engaged in any criminal activity nor have I ever been engaged in facilitating any criminal activity”
However the Minister in his statement did not explicitly deny talking to Simels or his associate.
The Health Minister says that he financially is poorer for being a Minister in the Bharrat Jagdeo Administration. The US citizen Minister says he does not own property in Guyana but his family owns property in New York. When Capitol News checked property records in the New York City area there is no Leslie Ramsammy listed as owning property.
The Health Minister’s name has been linked like his former Cabinet Colleague Home Affairs Minister Ronald Gajraj to the Roger Khan case ever since the juror’s questionnaire was released. There have been calls for the resignation of the Health Minister as a result.
