Alleged chain snatcher shot!

An Albouystown family is this evening mourning the death of a 20 year old family member – Gavin Paul who met his demise on Saturday, after it was alleged that he snatched a chain from a young woman in the vicinity of Robb Street.

Reports are that Paul was shot in the back by a public spirited citizen after an alarm was raised by the young woman. He then managed to run a few yards south of Robb Street where he eventually collapsed.

Paul was clad only in his underwear, prompting questions about what had happened to his clothes.

The victim Alana Butcher told reporters that she scuffled with Paul and ripped his shirt off when he slipped away from her and ran away.

Paul’s lifeless body on the pavement triggered a massive row between persons gathered at the scene. Some persons felt that he should have been transported to the hospital and not left to die in the rain on the pavement while others said that he chose that path.

Paul’s body was removed nearly two hours after the incident by the Lyken’s Funeral Parlour.

The police are continuing their investigation into the shooting.
