Pegasus now has Guyanese ownership

The Guyana Pegasus hotel has once again changed hands, but this time it is exclusively owned by Guyanese.

A group of local investors led by businessman and CEO of Guyana Stockfeeds Ltd Robert Badal took control of the Guyana Pegasus Hotel last week and intends to invest over $3m US in an expansion and reconstruction plan.

The local businessman further explained that change in ownership does not signal a major shake up in the hotel’s operations since the management and staff remains in place. He stressed that the is aim is to have Pegasus transformed into a five star hotel.

This sale comes after months of speculation regarding the future of the hotel. Last November, a new management team took over the operation of the Pegasus Hotel, which officially severed ties with the Starwood chain of hotels and resorts.
