Namilco celebrates 40 years in Flour Industry
In reaching the demands of consumers on the global and local markets, the National Milling Company (NAMILCO) has been the first Guyanese company to be awarded the International Organization for Standardization ISO 9001: 2008 certificate.
The company’s sterling achievement has also coincided with its 40th anniversary.
Speaking at the anniversary celebration last evening, Managing Director Bert Sukhai said that the local company has been retooled to meet market demands and is looking forward to facilitate free trade with neighboring countries such as Brazil.
And endorsing those remarks Minister of Trade and Industry Manniram Prashad cited that Namilco has always kept the interest of consumers at heart and pointed to some of the economic hardships experienced by the flour industry one year ago.
Meanwhile US ambassador to Guyana John Jones applauded the efforts of the company and its partnership with US testing company- Seaboard International.
Namilco was established in May of 1969 and specializes in the manufacturing of Flour and Flour Products.
