Ramdin on CARICOM’s implementation
Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of American States Ambassador Albert Ramdin is of the view that Caricom as a regional body needs to revisit its objectives to fulfill the interest of the region.
Ambassador Ramdin’s remarks came after an official visit to the country on Monday to participate in a regional diplomatic training program for mid career diplomats.
He added that CARICOM is at a stage where there are many internal challenges and as such foreign policy becomes critical.
The OAS official further pointed out that there is need for honest dialogue among regional heads and some level of commitment to overcome the challenges within the region
During his visit to the country, the ambassador also met with President Bharrat Jagdeo, members of the Alliance for Change Party and the internal donor community. Before his departure he was also scheduled to meet with PNC/R members.
