Guyanese businesses pushing for more U.S help
Businesses registered under the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association are looking to establish trade links with the United States- a situation which they believe can contribute to increased trade exports.
At the association’s business luncheon held today at the Regency Suites Hotel, President of the Association Ramesh Dookhoo disclosed that outward trade to the US is on the decrease and it has become increasingly difficult.
In his feature address at the event which attracted several members of the Private sector civil society and diplomatic corps, US Ambassador to Guyana John Jones pointed out that Guyana and the US have a unique partnership which sees over $30m US being invested in Guyana’s economy.
The Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association has been established as an organization that is recognized by private firms and the government as the body for consultation on matters regarding Guyana ‘s manufacturing sector. It maintains strong ties with other local private sector organizations as well as regional and international organizations to deliver a comprehensive menu of services to its members.
