From Eve Leary with Love. Top Cop says Magistrate Guilhuys not being targeted
The Police Commissioner Henry Greene is making it clear that the Guyana Police Force is not targeting Magistrate Gordon Guilhuys and the magistrate should understand that.
The magistrate had complained to Capitol News, claiming police harassment in relation to a recent accident that he was involved in. the magistrate said it was a minor accident and there was never an investigation. The force has filed 6 charges against him.
The magistrate is furious about that move saying that the force has become “a law onto its own self”. Police Commissioner Henry Greene today said the force cannot be blamed for the magistrates actions.
Greene said there is no problem with Guilhuys. The magistrate however is telling a different story. He believes that a high ranking official in the force may be after him and wants to simply embarrass him.
Commissioner Greene said the police force has nothing but love for the magistrate who is a former police officer and who was recently at the center of a shooting incident involving a young policeman.
The force intends to go ahead with the charges against the magistrate who is currently on administrative leave in relation to the shooting incident. The Judicial Service Commission is still to decide whether it will allow the magistrate back on the bench.
