Another US National Busted with Cocaine
It now appears as though the drug dealers in this country are targeting young American girls in their efforts to get the cocaine out of Guyana. The Guyana police force is reporting that another American woman has been nabbed with cocaine in the false sides of her suitcases.
The young lady Tyrica Noble, an atlanta based hairstylist, was nabbed at the Cheddi Jagan Airport with just over a pound of cocaine in her suitcases. On the same day another American woman, a 21 year old was also nabbed with cocaine in the bottom of her suitcases.
Both women have since appeared in court. Details are sketchy about the latest bust although reports state that investigators are looking at possible links. The first American woman busted was on her way to New York. The other, was on her way to Miami.
It is unclear who may have paid for their tickets, although information suggests that the tickets were paid for on this side of the Atlantic. The American embassy was contacted in both cases. It is not clear whether the embassy intends to conduct its own investigations.
As this newscast has been reporting, there appears to be moves by the persons in the drug underworld here to recruit young people to serve as drug mules.
Young Guyanese with US visas and young Americans are being targeted. The internet, Capitol News understands is the base for recruitment through social websites.
The recruits would be promised huge profits once they agree to be part of the drug smuggling scheme. Their tickets are usually bought and paid for by persons close to those in the drug underworld, this newscast has learnt.
